transferring software?

I recieved a copy of Panther for Christmas. Can I give my old copy of Jaguar to a friend to put on the g3 tower he just got? Would it be legal and everything? Thanks.

I think it would be as long as you were not running Jag on any of your machines, and you didn't retain any copies for yourself.

and as long as your copy of Panther is a full version - rather than one purchased through up-to-date (which is really an upgrade).
