Have just installed 1Gig of Ram in my TiG4 500 Powerbook and am still getting poor performance when using large 100Mb+ files in Photoshop 6.
I am running 9.2, have given Photoshop 700,000k and have a second Sony 20" CRT monitor.
Any tips on how to optimise my system? No matter how basic. I was expecting things to improve with an extra 512.
Screen redraw is very slow.
Many thanks.

A couple thoughts (and I am not a Photoshop geek)

Are you using a RAM disk as your scratch disk. I have read this can help with LARGE files??? Can anyone speak to that?

I found a bunch of crap from adobe online that range from rebuilding the desktop to reinstalling sys software.

Good luck.
