I wanted to try iTunes store out so I bought a song from my PC at work and it works and sounds great on iTunes 4 for Windows. But at home I have iTunes 2 for Mac OS 9.2.2 (Newest version for OS 9 I am aware of).
It does not seem to welcome the format.
Am I going to have to wait for my new G5 to be able to play this song. *sigh* :-)
Thanks for any advice!

Not nececcarally, just any iTunes versions 4 and up which unfortunately for you won't run on OS 9....

Thank you! I was pretty sure of that. But I thought their might be some 'seekrit' way to pull it off.
So as soon as Apple does the speed bump for the G5s.... I will be able to enjoy all the acoustic pleasure of the 99 cents I spent.

burn the song onto a CD using your PC's iTunes. then re-rip that song from the CD in any format you want. (mp3, AAC, aiff, etc.)
there'll be a loss of quality but you will still be able to listen to it until you get your new machine...
I wouldn't say too much quality loss if you rip it as a 192k MP3 file.
