I am running OS 9.2.2 and was curious what this 'function' was and maybe that would explain why mine says "none" in the system profiler.

Just curious more than anything

Enablers were hardware-specific shims to allow the system software to work with machines created after that version of Mac OS was released.

OIC...

Very clear now. I guess my G3 beige is ok without enablers, to run OS 9.2.2 because if they were needed, the system would "ask" for them and subsequently be installed.

I think I gotcha.

Thanks.. MP
