software for cleaning hard drives?

I am giving up my mac (sad day for me) what is a good software tool to wipe hard drives, delete stored items that could be retrieved from Norton and of course the dreaded internet cache! thanks for your help.

Just do a Low level format/zero the data on your hard drive and just do a re-install of the software using either the install disk or restore disk that came with your mac.
