Spore freezes

I am having some issues with Spore freezing up on my MBP santa rosa with a geforce 8600m. The game usually locks up during cut sequences and between changing phases. Sometimes the lockup is juts the graphics (the sound keeps going) and i just have to wait a really long time. Also, it just randomly locks up every couple hours or so. These random locks are more fatal -- the sound repeats and then I know its time to press the power button.

Anyone else having this issue and/or have resolved it?

I have the same exact issue, i was hoping i wasnt the only one. I hope its fixed.

same issue here. As a temporary solution, try putting the graphics options to low; that seems to make the freezes go away.

Even with everything at low, i don't notice much of a difference.

Same problem here. It didn't happen very often before, but now that I'm in Space it happens faster and faster. It's starting to be extremely annoying because now there are sometimes that it hangs even when I've been playing for only half an hour or so. It's frustrating :-/

I've got a MBP 10.5.5, and I can't even get the game to fully install. Every time I run the install, it gets to file 79/90 and freezes the entire system -- causing a forced power-off.

On my other MBP 10.5.4, it installed just fine, but when I get to the creature stage, after about 5-10 minutes, the game randomly freezes, as if it's just lagging massively. Even on lowest detail, it's horrible.

I'd think they might be working on some kind of patch for it, but I wouldn't hold your breath on it.

On the bright side, a PC with less than 1/2 the specs and capabilities is running this game smoothly and without problems...yay for EA making this game "Mac Compatible"

the only way is to turn of the mac
also i have a mac snow leopard
