Does itunes support a recording function? I want to record from streaming broadcasts. Can you suggest something please.

Get an app called Audio Hijack (http://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijack/) from Rogue Amoeba Software. It does quite well. It is well worth the shareware fee.

iTunes doesn't have the functionality built in, probably for legal reasons for Apple.

Once you record the stream via Audio Hijack, you can play the resulting files in iTunes.
