MobileMe / iCal / Sync Problems

I have been using mobileMe for a month now and have noticed the following problem. Calendar syncs are not showing up in iCal as described below:

* Create event in MobileMe -> shows up on iPhone but not in iCal
* Create event on iPhone -> shows up in MobileMe but not iCal
* Create event in iCal -> shows up in MobileMe and on iPhone


So why are things created in iPhone or MMe not showing up in iCal? I have 4 calendars associated with this account.

I've noticed that if I keep iCal running on my iMac and add an event on my iPhone it will not show up on my iMac until I quit iCal. Not sure why it does this, but it does.
