Hi
My Mac (with OS X Panther) wont boot! I tried to use a program MacBoot 10.0.3 so there would be a new background when I booted up, but when I restarted, a folder icon with the OS face that blinks to a question mark popped up. I tried zapping the p ram, but nothing happened. What should I do? This needs to be fixed by tomorrow morning! Thanks

You *might* try reinstalling OS X on your Mac. I don't think it'll screw anything up to do it although you might want to wait for more replies. As long as you don't format the hard drive when you do it it should just overwrite your OS but not lose any of your Applications or anything...

have you tried booting in 'safe mode' (press and hold shift key after startup tone) ?

Thanks for replying so fast! My problem's been fixed. I started up from the OS X install disk, but insted of reinstalling it, I quit and restarted. It made me select a startup disk, and it hit me. The startup disk must not have been specified. Zapping the PRAM probably should have done the trick. Oh well. The moral: MacBoot sucks, no matter how tempting a Trogdor startup background may seem.
