Hi,

I have a later 2008 version of mbp with the 8600M GT and i was just wondering if i were to use bootcamp to run my games, would i be able to play at higher resolutions with less spikes/delays? Only games i really play are wc3 and WoW, and ive been noticing that in wc3 i tend to randomly spike. Would boot camp be a solution to this? or will it make it worse??

I was also wondering does it matter what i put my battery saving preference too?(normal, better performance, energy saving) I was reading in some other post that the guy was saying he made sure it was in better performance so it would use his 9600GT. Is that true? or does it not matter what your preference is at.

Lastly, is there anything you'd recommend doing to reduce my spiking throughout the whole game? lowering resolution didn't seem to do much as i first thought i was playing on too high resolutions.

Thanks for the help !!

What are these "spikes" you are talking about?

by spikes i mean like super lag, where my fps will go down to like 10-20 for a few seconds. then it will be normal, and then return over and over

Does this happen in WC3 or in WOW?

okay, let me guess, judging from what you say, it seems you run WC3 on virtualization software (eg: Parallels or Fusion) right? Well don't bother running games on virtualization cause its turtle slow.

To play games fluidly (especially if there is 3D involve - doesn't matter how old it is, WC3 is a very old game) use BootCamp.
