I have an epson perfection 1250 scanner in use since OS9 days. Keeping it running under OSX has been a pain in the ... given epson's lack of enthusiastic support for X, but I've kept it going until this morning. I launched it only to discover that it is broken. I have no idea why. Worse, it seems to have broken image capture as well.

I've taken rudimentary steps in trying to troubleshoot, and I've gotten nowhere. On launch, a window tells me that it cannot launch the scanner. No other infor or helpful hints. This occurs in classic as well. I even get the same window in image capture. However, when I go to system profiler, the scanner shows up under usb devices. Puzzler, for me anyway.

Anyone had the same or a similar problem, and could just shoot the solution over to me? thanks.

Shows up under ones that are supported. Drivers found here.

Try uninstall and reinstalling. Something got messed up as some point.
