You cant play .exe (windows) games in Mac. If you like FPS games I would suggest Enemy Territory: Quake Wars or COD4. Both run pretty well in OS X.
However if you like puzzle/pac man type games I can suggest two VERY good games:
This one is great and runs on Mac: http://playgreenhouse.com/game/TDBOY-000001-01/ It is called World of Goo.
The other is an RPG type game but is also fun and runs on Mac perfectly: http://playgreenhouse.com/game/HOTHG-000001-01/

Could you specify what graphics you have? Is it the Geforce 9400 or the GMA 1300?

Well, you need to download the Mac version of those games (ie the one under the Finder with the word "Mac"). It will be compatible with Mac if you download the right one, which is NOT the one under the Windows icon.

How is your MacBook version 4.1 with the Intel GMA X3100? Or does Apple consider the polycarbonate ones that were reduced in price the same version as the Aluminum MacBooks?

You probably need to invest some time in getting Stuffit to fully work with Safari. I would also recommend spending some time identifying where the unstuffed files have been saved.
Do they text files you open appear to have about 80 characters per line and appear to basically be random? If so, you are not looking at the extracted file.

My top two games are Starcraft and Warcraft 3. However if you're not a fan of stratagey games, steer clear of them. They are great oldies and should run fine on your mac. My computer runs them both fine (WC3 on low settings), and I have a pre-intel G5 although I'm looking at a new mbp!

I would recommend Droid Assault, super fun and seems to be just what you're looking for.

Ditch stuffit and use "The Unarchiver". Make sure you go into Unarchiver's preferences and unselect "Zip Archive". Having a third party app unpack plain jane zip files creates an issue like you have described. The Unarchiver is free but I beleive it can only unpack, it is not able to make archives.
If you are looking for a fun game and are not super fanatical about playing games with the latest graphics, check out Urban Terror. It is a team based tactical FPS much like counter strike but it is totally free. Everybody I get playing it becomes addicted.

Try Spore. A lot of people hate it but I think it's fun. As for graphics and music it's a real masterpiece.
