SMTP software

Hi all,

I'm new on the mac, so please forgive my stupidity.

Can anyone recommend a software app that would let me setup my own SMTP server, to send outgoing mail, on Panther?

For all I know Panther could have one built in, if so I have no idea where it is. I'm after something with a GUI as I'm not so hot on the mac terminal just yet.

I don't want to use my ISP's, hence my request.

Postfix is the default SMTP agent in Panther.

It's installed, but to enable it will require some terminal work.

I'm not aware of any GUI based STMP agents at the moment, but I could be wrong.

I'm not aware of any easy options beyond the built-in copy of Postfix; Postfix is a top notch SMTP server anyway. With that GUI configuration tool, you should have no problems.

I'm trying to change the headers people see. Is this possible in Postfix? For example:

I want to change things like postfix.domain.com and the (Postfix) to something I specify. Setting them in the Custom Postfix settings box didn't seem to work, after a couple of restarts of postfix. Will I be able to edit this or does my stupidity outshine my very basic knowledge!?
