mail: inbox messages disappeared!

All of a sudden all the messages in my inbox are gone. is there some sort of limit on the number I can keep there? they aren't in my deleted folder either.

Also, why did my sent messages folder suddenly stop also? that happened about three months ago and never started again!

while in the inbox, try going to the mailbox menu and then rebuild. that will rebuild your index of messages. it is possible that the index was somehow corrupted.
as for the sent messages mailbox, i'm not sure i understand what you are trying to say.
