A .me and a .mac account on my iPod Touch

Hello,

I just sign up to Mobile Me for the first time and something strange just happened regarding my mail accounts.

I used to have my regular e-mail and my brand new .me account. But for some reason now, I have a "Mobile Me" account just added that has my e-mail using a .mac.

Why would I ever need both and where did this come from?

Same thing in the "Settings" section too when I go to my "Mail,Contacts,Calendars" section. Under "accounts" it now there too.

It shows:

1. My regular e-mail
2. My .me account
3. A .mac account (With the same name as my .me account)
4. Add Account

I know that the .mac account gets me to the same place but why would I need both and should I just delete the .mac account?

Sounds like a glitch. I would delete both and re-add the @me.com, as your new account isn't likely to work with @mac.com.
