Mac OS X and DVD Ripping?

I just bought a eMac g4 Superdrive and I'm looking to put this baby to the test.

I'm new though to DVD Ripping and I would like to now about some sources for info on the subject,

So if you have any info or app recommodations please speak up!

Everyone around me that uses DVD Backup (http://www.wormintheapple.gr/macdvd/DVDbackup.html#download) can get it to run in Panther, even though I can't for whatever reason.

So I use MacTheRipper (http://www.wormintheapple.gr/macdvd/mtr.html#download) for Panther.
