Trouble playing TF2

So I have been playing TF2 fine since it first came out. However until recently (the last update to be exact) something weird is happening every time I try to play it. It lags like crazy. My connection is fine @ 10mbps, the server is fine with no ping spikes, and my settings for TF2 is all at the recommended. I also lag in DOD source too. What could be the problem?

What machine are you running, which Windows OS?
I've always had my GPU overclocked slightly but a few weeks back I really pushed it. It runs games fine, no crashing or anything like that but of all the odd problems to arise - wifi would start to cut off. It didn't lose signal (still at 18mbps) or drop the connection.

This is an early C2D iMac on XP.

Btw is that 10mbps the internet or network speed?

The macbook pro in my sig. It was bought August 2007 and it has 4gb of ram. Windows XP is running. Keep in mind it has been fine up until the update....
