Hiring an artist?

I would imagine this is a common question but I couldn't find much about it searching the forums.

Have any of the developers here hired an artist to draw the artwork for their app?

If so,

how did you find the artist?
how much did it cost? (hourly rate or fixed price)
how did you license the artwork?


I'm not talking about icons or anything like that; I'm interested in graphic novel style artwork, like The Watchmen or Sin City.

My friend is based in London and does the kind of work it seems your looking for (lucky i spotted this i suppose). Check out his website if you like and PM me if you want his email or anything, i know hes usually looking for projects!
