I have installed Parallels desktop on my Macbook and have tried to install Windows XP using both Parallels and Bootcamp (FAT partition) using a volume license Windows XP Pro CD that has been used to successfully used to load XP on several (<10) PCs. I keep getting the same error message for both Parallels and Bootcamp: Installation failed: D: 86asms. Error message: Manifest Parse Error:
Invalid at the top level of the document: error:I386\asms\52\POLICY\MSFT\WINDOWS\NETWORKING\RTCDLL\RTCDLL.MAN
Fatal Error: One of the components that windows needs to continue
setup could not be installed.

Is this a problem with the license even though I have the correct activation Key and how do i solve the problem?:(

Try out the Parallels support forums. I am not sure of non-Retail XP is the only one supported, but those forums might have more info. Also, email Parallels support.

Let us know what you find out.
