iChat buddy list problem?

I don't know what has happened, but my iChat buddy list no longer groups buddies by status—that is, no longer are available buddies at the top of the list, idle second, away third. Instead they are all scattered in the whole list of buddies (available and greyed-out unavailable) and arranged in no order that I can discern. Help?

In the 'View' menu, is there a check mark next to 'Sort by Availability'? If not, try that. Otherwise, if the check is there and it's still messed up, try switching it to one of the other choices then switching back.
