Help needed compiling SPIM Simulator

Pre compiled MacOS X binary. Make sure that any source code files you need to use have UNIX end-lines otherwise it will get weird read errors.

UNIX end lines, huh? That means I use vi or pico in Terminal for my source code, right?

Should work fine, although there are text editors that let you save with UNIX end line characters too. BBedit lite for example.
