Last I checked Appleworks is free with iMacs, iBooks and eMacs,
Appleworks is extra for Powermacs and Powerbooks.

actually it says on the apple site in the tech specs that ibooks come with appleworks but for powerbooks its not listed... is this simply a mistake?

Yep its disappointing given its pretty old software.
What bugs me is that Office X isn't OEM so its so expensive and I can't salary sacrafice it in a package... I suspect though with the release in May its price will drop...
