Hey guys,

I relocated my Apple DVD player to my Desktop a while back, and had a computer issue that deleted my user, therefore losing my DVD player :( Is there anyway to get the DVD player installation files without reinstalling panther??

Does anyone know of an online resource that has the player? I've only been able to find updates which aren't doing the trick. Does anyone have it located anywhere where I can download it?

Can anyone send it to me?

I'm helpless without it. :D

I don't want to reinstall the OS just for a 20mb package.

Thanks in advance!!

Richie

Actually, I think the program "Apple DVD player" is on one of the software install discs that came with your computer.

But here is the link if you want to download it: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120089

I sure miss my DVD player on my iBook. :(

But, that's the update :(

I've gone through each disk individually for panther and I can't find it's package....

Looks like I'll have to reinstall the OS... that sucks!!

Thanks again though!!

When in the thread you say (if it doesn't open with anything, command-i on the file and set it for Terminal), do you mean "open it with" terminal? or run it in terminal?
(no experience with terminal at all) There are just a few things others may take for granted but I need to understand step by step. :(

For me it required...

Putting in CD #1

Download the linked file from the above message

Double click the downloaded file...

And now I have a funtioning DVD player...

If it doesn't open in terminal automatically, just associate it with terminal, and it should do it's thing.
