I wanted to create a clean edit of some songs and was wondering what program to use. I got Peak Express 3.3 for free when I bought FCE and was wondering if I could use this. If I can, what type of files can I use because it can't open MP3 or AAC. What i wanted to do was either mute the words or reverse them. I also have soundtrack but I don't believe I can use it for this
Thanks,
Jon

Are your files multitracked? If you just want to reverse single tracks (like vocals only) then it will work Peak maxes out at two tracks, or stereo. If you have a full song as an AIFF (which Peak will accept) with instruments, vocals, etc. then you cannot accomplish what you want with any software, as no program can differentiate between vocals and other instruments when they are from one file.
If you have a multitrack file with isolated vocals, then you can use Peak to change the direction and then add it back in to your multitrack session, although any multitrack program should be able to reverse it internally.

Thanks, I converted the files from MP3 to AIFF and then just reversed the parts I wanted, works great.
