Woohoo!!!!!

I ordered it as well - looking forward to getting my disk soon!!!

How long ago did you order it? I ordered mine a couple months ago and haven't received the shipment. They'll probably send then off to the people who ordered first....

Man, I remember using lightwave on my old Amiga 500/2000. Those where the days. I think I still have that version somewhere. Now that I think about it, I think I still have a copy of lightwave for windows... I gotta dig that up..

I'm sure I got it the first week they talked about the free upgrade.

Its still not here - I probably am way down on the list. I ordered it when they had the RealViz promo deal. The imageModeler is cool stuff.

So what do you do with Lightwave? Got any samples?

So I went to Newtek's home page and there was no announcement of Lightwave 8.0 shipping.....what's up with that?

I have no idea I showed my copy to my old teacher and he flipped out that i have it. I've tried rendering out anything and found out i need a new number lock code. Maybe I'll call them today.

Maybe?

Damn, I wouldn't have wasted any time - I'd love to see what speed improvements they've managed. Its got a whole load of features upgrades/additions as well. Its going to be fun to figure it all out.

I'll need to be getting that G5 to really put it through its paces, though...:D

Please let us know how it is. Is it worth the 500 dollar upgrade?
It is a great program though. But a bit clunky sometimes.

I'd be interested in your opinion on how it performs.

I've got a couple nice projects I'll be using it on when it arrives - I'm really looking forward to the improved IK and character animation setup.

Here are some of the thing i have seen. I use lightwave for print work, AF and flash.

1) Everything runs great in 10.3.3. nothing is chunky at all.
2) Apple Z(undo) works with camera moves, lights, etc..
3) Modeler has a new window option, to zoom in a window you like and go back to the 4 windows again, kinda like expose.
4) It loads all the plug-ins on loading the app.
5) Built in help.

I'm running it on a Powerbook 1.33 17in G4 with 1.5GB ram 4200rpm drive

I still haven't received it yet and the Newtek website still is offering the 7.5 upgrade to 8.0....

You're one lucky person :D

Any samples of work/screen shots?
