Hey guys, I have a MacMini I want to throw windows xp or Vista on just to mess around with it a little bit. What is the best way to do it? I have an 80 GB HDD with 2 GB of ram. I believe its 1.83 Core Duo. It's the higher of the two from the generation. I was going to google it, but figured I'd come here to the experts first for opinions and advice ;)

Boot Camp gives full performance.
Parallels/Fusion virtualise it, so you can run it alongside OS X.

Yeah, Boot Camp is your best bet. Also why not try Windows 7 RC? Its free to try out.

Create a 20-25GB partition in Boot Camp assistant in OSX and install XP or like others mentioned try out Windows 7 RC1. You can always delete the partition later if your Windows journey is not satisfactory
Cheers.

Boot Camp gives full performance.
Almost. AHCI mode is likely not enabled. Lack thereof, however,
will only have a negligible performance impact in most cases.
The greater problem is where a Boot Camp partition is on the
disk, assuming you go that route. Later sectors tend to have
slower access times (non-SSD). For best performance you need
to dedicate the whole disk to Windows, or place the Windows
partition first.
