Help restoring missing hardware

So I've done something pretty dumb...

Let me first say I'm not super Windows savvy, I know how to do most tasks, but basic house keeping in Windows definitely isn't my thing.

I recently got a new Macbook Pro, and I installed Windows Vista (service pack 2). I got all the drivers working just right and everything seemed fine and dandy, until I noticed that I couldn't get any sound to be played from the headphone jack. Upon closer inspection I found that there was a red light on in the headphone jack (I have yet to find a cure for this).

So I went into the control panel and tried changing default settings, and I told Windows to use the headphones for sound, but it would only use the headphones for system sounds, not music, games, etc.

So I did something stupid and clicked on the internal speakers and told Windows to not use that piece of hardware and POOF! The internal speakers disappeared from the usable hardware. LAME!

So I'm here to ask for help on these issues. First I need to get Windows to recognize my internal speakers again, no sounds come from the speakers anymore. And once that's done I need to know how to turn that red light off.

Can no one help me with this? I feel like this should be something easy to take care of.

I have VMWare if that helps...

If you Right click in the window where you turned the internal speakers off and select 'show disabled devices' it should appear in the list.

Failing that, you could try device manager - right click on anything and choose 'scan for hardware changes' or something similar. That will look at all the hardware in the list and compare it to what it can see attached to the machine. Not sure if that finds speakers though.

Now I need to fix that red light issue. I found another thread where someone was able to remedy it, but it looks like Apple uses a different driver or something now because I can't find the right options in the control panel.
