choppy sound in FCP

does anyone else get choppy sound playback in FCP when importing sound files?

I'm guessing you're using MP3 files for your audio. If this is the case, then try converting them to aiff with QuickTime first.

MP3s generally have a sample rate of 44.1 khz, whereas DV audio has a sample rate of 48 khz. This difference in sample rates causes such choppy playback.

ya cause they are ACC and i'm pretty sure ACC isn't supported under FCP ... ... convert to .wav or .aiff and your problem should be solved

although i found mp3's worked fine under FCP 4
