If the SIM card is removed, which even a pretty dumb thief might do when he gets the phone, can you still track the iPhone? Seems like a giant flaw if you can't track the phone without a SIM card (might be due to technology restrictions, I dont know).

And why can't Apple allow a feature when you log into me.com to tell the iPhone to disasble restoring? For example if your phone is stolen, you quickly go to me.com and if the thief hasn't removed the SIM (goes back to my first question) he won't be able to restore the iPhone. Seems like it could make the whole finding system better overall.

Hope someone can help.

Apple can't stop thieves from stealing things. I don't think Find My iPhone was intended to be the mobile phone version of LoJack. Think of it, instead, as a way to find your phone if you lost it.

Ignatius is right, plus think if you "disabled" restoring and then stopped paying for your me.com account. You'd be screwed!
