Other then less disk space (which I don't care about) what would I LOSE buying a "family sub" for around $25 off eBay vs the $69 full package off eBay?

Control of the account!
When you buy a family sub, you're at the mercy of the person handling the main account. If that person cancels their account you're out of luck, with no warning!
They could also delete your account, and you'd have no recourse.

Please read my post here. (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=8167931&postcount=3) Selling a sub account on eBay is actually a violation of MM's TOS.

That's the seller's, Apple's & eBay's problem, not mine. :)
I wasn't going to renew past my 60 day trial anyway but for $23 I gave it a shot. Got my year, changed all passwords, emails and security questions. Worse case I'm out the cost of 2 pizza's.

Well, when Apple cancels the account, it's your problem. I got scammed not realizing it was a sub-account [the ad said "individual account"]. One month after paying, the account was cancelled by either Apple or the seller. Just say no!

Ask yourself, does your reply help the OP or does it help your post count?
Definitely the latter.
