I found this (http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/27/xbox-360-with-250gb-hdd-and-forza-3-spotted-on-amazon-germany/) on Engadget last night.

Now that the Xbox 360 Elite has officially dropped in price and killed off the Pro, it was only a matter of time before there'd be a new rumor to pin on Microsoft's console. Amazon Germany, who previously listed the PlayStation 3 Slim a good 20 days before the official debut (it still has the same Amazon Stock Identification Number as it did when leaked), has gone ahead and posted a new Xbox 360 model, ASIN in tow, with a 250GB HDD, two wireless controllers, and Forza Motorsport 3. Price is listed at 279 euros ($397), a good 30 euros over the current Elite price. No release date, but Forza 3 isn't due out until at least October 23rd so we'd say you got awhile to wait and see if this pans out. Any chance we can get a built-in WiFi adapter along with that extra storage space?

Yeah read this earlier on Eurogamer and IGN too.

€279 is great price considering extra controller, forza and that big ass 250GB hdd.

My 120GB HDD is already full as most of my games I play are installed to drive, a 250GB HDD would be very handy, but I don't want to pay €150 for a drive on its own....

Sounds like a great value! But I just wish MS would just let me install my own damn HD! Screw this proprietary crap, and forcing us to buy a top model just to get more storage space.

Agreed. I may try and do the HDD mod this time when/if they release a 250GB HDD.

Can't you connect an external hard drive to the USB ports?

I mean, I don't because I use all of mine for computers, but you know. :P.

I thought the game saves/games have to be installed on the actual hard drive, but the media can be on the external. That'd help a lot of people out instead of buying a new 360/Hard Drive.

It's all about high profit margins and the willingness of people to pay.

Except the main benefit for me and a lot of users since the new NXE was the ability to install our games to the hard drive. Faster loading, quieter machine, improved performance in a lot of games.

You can't do that to an external HDD.

Looks like it's "sorta" confirmed.

http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/15/modern-warfare-2-xbox-360-bundle-has-a-250gb-hdd-399-price-tag/

"The Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 Bundle will include a huge 250GB Hard Drive, two Xbox 360 Wireless Controllers, an Xbox 360 Headset and Standard Edition copy of Modern Warfare 2."

That quote comes from the Xbox 360 "Fan Club" thing at Facebook.

As long as people are willing to pay, they will charge for it. Just like Xbox Live.
