The one disadvantage of spending all my time on my MBP is I'm forgetting all that I knew about Windows! Here's a problem that I can't recall the solution to.

Using drag and drop in Windows XP, I drag a folder from a network drive to a flash drive plugged into my notebook. It appears as a folder, not a shortcut. However, if I delete something from the local folder, it also deletes that file on the network drive, as well. I wanted a copy of the network folder and its files, not a mirror of it. I want to make changes to the local copy (on the flash drive) without those changes being reflected on the network drive. What am I forgetting?
