Hi,

Just curious, I use windows on my Mac for work and I noticed that the bootcamp partition is visible on my desktop in OSX, is there a way of:

a. hiding it

and

b. making it un-deletable unless you use bootcamp

I have a fair amount of data on there and I want to make sure it does not get accidently deleted when my gf goes near the laptop ;)

Thanks

This may help. (http://www.gigoblog.com/2007/05/01/prevent-mac-os-x-from-mounting-a-hard-drive-volume-at-boot/) Not sure if it works under Snow Leopard, though.

Mac OS X (10.5, can't be sure about 10.6) doesn't support writing/deleting on NTFS volumes, so if your Bootcamp partition is NTFS *and* you haven't installed MacFUSE and the NTFS-3G driver then you can look but not change.

Ah ok, but I cannot move / hide it from the desktop?

Try this link. (http://www.gigoblog.com/2007/05/01/prevent-mac-os-x-from-mounting-a-hard-drive-volume-at-boot/) (same as above) It may work for you.
