I used the gamma adjustment utility to set my monitor but now I think my colors are a bit screwed up. For example, the alternate white color here on MacRumors is this very light/washed light green. Don't know if that's correct or not.

I searched the utilities that came with my eMac but didn't see a way to adjust your colors. Surely there has to be something out there? What's the best way to calibrate your color settings?

In System Preferences, you can find a ColorSync pane. Inside there, a color calibration utility can be found. You might also try looking for a ColorSync utility in your Utilities folder.

Yea, found that but it's pretty simple. It really only does your gamma; it doesn't help calibrate the individual channels. Plus you can't make quick edits to it; you have to re-run the calibration.

Fear not! I did some more searching and found this (http://www.bergdesign.com/supercal/)! Wow! This program is *AWESOME*! This is what should have shipped with OS X. It takes a bit longer to run but it calibrates your brightness, contrast, gamma, and color channels individually. Plus you can move back-and-forth to tweek changes. I'm now confident that my display is properly calibrated (it looks 150% better too).

Even if you *think* your display looks good right now I highly recommend that you try this little (Shareware) app out and create a new color profile to play with. I think you'll be very surprised. :)
