Hi,

I have a white Macbook, Intel Core Duo 2, 2 Gb Ram. (October 2008)

Under Leopard, my volume (audio output is a shame); under bootcamp with Windows XP on the hard drive, volume is almost double: is there any work around on this?

Thanks

I have the exact opposite issue, in Windows 7 I get awful sound output, with speakers up all the way I get what sounds like the equivalent of 2 bars in OS X . I really wish I knew how to fix it, and then there is the fact that the backlight never turns off on the keyboard and the red light in the headphone jack is always on when in Windows. Sorry to thread jack just thought I would share how I have the exact same issue just the opposite.

Well,

I just did some Internet research and it seems a very common problem that Apple never cared to fix, being the volume under OS X VERY soft compared to XP. I know that on iTunes I can crank up the preamp, but what about YouTube, DVD player, etc? Annoying on such an expensive machine.

Try Hear, its a system wide OS X EQ and preamp. It also has numerous audio effects you can add.

There's a 30 day trial.
