I have a PB 15" 1.25 with an MX500. I like to use the MX500 on my desk but I'm getting some wierd issues from it. When I first login, the mouse speed is too fast, I have to go into the preferences and move it one notch then back and its back where I like it. I think this is complicated by SideTrack touchpad driver, but I don't know.

Does anyone know if these complicate each other? This doesn't happen when I don't have the Logitech Control Center installed, but I need it so I can use the extra buttons on my mouse for back/forward when browsing etc.

I have heard of Logitech mouse driver problems relating to mouse tracking speed, even with clean installs of OS X. However, I think those were fixed by an update to the drivers. Check Logitech's site to make sure you have the most recent version. Also try www.versiontracker.com ... maybe they released a beta version thats not listed on their main support site.
