can't get torrents to work

i just joined mactorrentskickass, and i can't get their torrents to work. Is there anything special i need to do before they will work. I have opened them with both the original bit torrent and azureus, and neither seems to work. Thanks for any help

you need to enable that port in your firewall (assuming it is on). go to sys. pref. > sharing > firewall, and add a new port (name it Torrents or something) and designate it as the necessary port (i think azureus uses 6112). that's it.

It's a range of ports (the range is in the readme that comes with the official BitTorrent client). If you are behind a router then it also works a lot better if you forward the ports from the router to the machine you are running BitTorrent on.
