Whenever I plug in my USB cardreader, iPhoto pops up. How can I turn this off?

Try going into system preferences, and go into CD and DVD (or something like that).

In there, change the option for what happens when a disc with photos on it is inserted. I think this is for all drives, not just optical (CD and DVD), despite the name of the preference pane.

That dialog is set to "ignore".

Those settings don't have an impact on importing photos and iPhoto automatically opening. Go to Image Capture in the Application folder, and set the option to No application.

Awesome. Thanks man.

What does Image Capture do, anyway?

It can also download photos from your camera (people used it before iPhoto was released in Jan. 2002). I still use it today to get the videos off my Canon S400.

Image Capture works faster than iPhoto. I have set it as the default app on my comp.
