Installing Windows 7 in bootcamp mode on OS X 10.5?

I see most people are using Snow Leopard and Bootcamp 3.0 to dual boot with Windows 7. I'm still using plain Leopard 10.5.8. Can I use bootcamp under 10.5 to install 32 bit Windows 7 or do I need to upgrade to Snow Leopard first?

Leopard will work fine, but you'll have to scramble to find all the drivers you will need when Apple does get around to releasing official windows 7 supported drivers it'll be for SL only. So even if you want to stay on 10.5 it may be worth $29 to get the boot camp 3 drivers with SL.

Are you saying I can run 10.5 and use just the boot camp drivers from Snow Leopard (so that I just use the install disc for the bootcamp drivers)? Or do I have to install Snow Leopard on my main partition? If you can't tell I'm really trying to stay away from Snow Leopard for a few more point releases...

Yes. The only part of Boot Camp that lives in 10.6 is the Boot Camp Assistant, which you don't need to use. The stuff that makes it go is really in the firmware itself and the drivers.
