every request sent to the server takes 1 - 2 minutes to get a response from the server. Not to mention it makes you login every 10 seconds. Yahoo is the best for webmail out there.
.mac needs a speed boost big time. Don't waste your $50.

Sadly I've been noticing the same thing, it can be painfully slow at times.
I am on a 1024k line and most sites load up in an instant, but mac.com does take it's time with those image files, especially on the login screen :(

.Mac will get faster, as Apple get Web Objects to improve it (I assume it is done in Web Objects) I don't use web mail, to be fair, I hate web mail because I need to access my mail offline, therefore I use pop3 mail and just access it with e-mailanywhere.com when I am on the road ;)

It is obscene how slow .mac is. Not only that, but I find that it is down quite often. Look, I think Apple has every right to start charging people for use of their services, but this is ridiculous. Not only is .mac slow and overpriced (I don't need anti virus software and extra storage), but it is very unreliable. I'd rather pay $20 to Microsoft for Hotmail--e-mail is practically all I need and it's a heck of a lot more reliable than .mac.

Really, I want to upgrade, but need to really feel it's worth it! I suppose I feel that even though my current email (free) is stable, that if I pay, it REALLY can't go anywhere unannounced!
