Thinksecret is reporting that 6c115(a) is the final build of the retail jaguar...

can anyone confirm this at the apple stores or on their new machines? i'd really like to know... i've heard from several people that 6c115 was incredibly buggy

Does it really matter what build this thing is? From what I have heard it is going to kick major butt when it comes out and that no OS will be able to touch it, let alone make a good copy of it. So just chill. If I know Apple they will never release an inferior product they made themselves. Notice I said 'themselves' <cough Motorola>. And from what I have heard Jaguar runs flawlessly. So just buy jaguar and be proud that your Windows buddies are still light years behind!

I have heard that the final build is 6c115a. But there was no code change from 6c115 and 6c115a. I have read it is a readme that got changed and nothing more. This dissapoints me. I am runnig 6c115 and ya I think it is buggy also. Running on a Ti 800. Anyone else see brown fonts mixed in with black fonts on the menu bar? Kind of annoying. Not as annoying as the 1 dead pixel I have in the middle of the screen.... oh and one more tiny thing is I notice the fan stays on longer than needed. running a top -u via the terminal there is nothing taking more than 5% the CPU which is the top command. I dont get why the fan just stays on. A reboot clears it. anyway I hope there is some changes in the GM. I will be picking it up this Thursday night and will cross my fingers.

I saw on thinksecret that jaguar was supposed to have in the system preferences a section dedicated to the digital hub (music, videos, photos, etc...) although it is not the case in 6C115... What do you guys make of this?

Apple says on their website that they are shipping w/the GM. So a logical assumption would be that 6C115 is the GM. Nobody has a later build to prove otherwise.

Jaguar has been oficially released, but only w/new macs. So the boxed version should be the same thing, only in a box.

I've been using 6C115 and it is not "incredibly buggy". There might be a few remote bugs, but that will be fixed w/incremental updates.

Well I'm running all machines on 6C115 and it's buggy. Slower than earlyer builds, help viewer freezes up. USB print sharing worked on earlyer builds with a Epson SC880 but doesn't work now on 6c115. Ugh they ********* (this good arn?) up a good thing :-(

The speed, IMO, outweighs everything else. I was happy w/6C48 over any 10.1.x. But I guess that's just me. :)

yeah, i'm running 6c115 and the help viewer definitely has some serious problems, it takes forever to open, i guess thats not really a bug though. I have noticed a bunch of other really small things, but nothing signifigant, no kernel panics. and if your really worried about it, just remember thats its better than windows!

6C115 is a downgrade running 6c48 those early builds screamed.

#1 accuracy
#2 speed

The betas for 10.1 were also very fast up until the GM. Usually, my final release is the fastest. :)

i disagree with you.. there were certain advantages to 6c48 that 6c115 doesnt have... but overall i think that 6c115 is slightly better..

course thats only my opinion..

Well, I can tell you that I have 6c115, and I havent uncovered a single bug in it whatsoever. In fact it's faster than I could have ever imagined!!
