I was using Flash Media Encoder today and noticed how the cpu never went over 30% but yet the software was running very poorly. So how much improvement would i notice with a 3.33ghz 6-core instead? is it worth the hassle to trade in or just keep what i got and wait for software to catch up?

btw they said i'd b able to trade it in for no fee and they would pay me back the full difference in price.

I wonder if they'd allow you to just try using Flash Media Encoder and compare the times w/ out doing a full on swap.

If it scales 1:1 with clock speed, since it seems to be constrained on cores.. you're looking at a 25% benefit at best.

If it's limited to 4 cores now (theoretically), then you've got a lot of upside should they decide to improve the multi-threading and you keep your 12.
