Question on the 8-Core and 12-Core Motherboard

I will be buying a Mac Pro here in the next 3 to 6 months and I am almost sure I’m going to get the 8-Core Westmere Mac Pro but i was wondering with the 8-Core motherboard can you replace the Quad-Core with a 6-Core Chip later when I want to upgrade?

Yes, it should be upgradeable.

It should be upgradeable because both, quads and 6-cores (Westmeres) use B1 stepping
