I believe Bob Garthwaite of Altec Lansing may have just unwittingly broken his contract. I know that all the contracts Further Studios and Further Software deal out have clauses in them where you can't discuss the contract negotiations with the media. I highly suspect that Apple does too.
Especially in a contract that can paint Apple as anti-competitive.
But then again, IANAL.
I believe Bob Garthwaite of Altec Lansing may have just unwittingly broken his contract.Yeah, his comment didn't sound like it was information for the general public.

Really, though, it isn't too surprising that Apple would throw clauses like that in - businesses do it all the time in order to leverage a competitive advantage out of Intellectual Property. It's not illegal, nor is it (in my opinion) unethical.

Oh, I definitely wasn't arguing that it was illegal or unethical. I was just stating that it most likely wasn't meant to be public information.
