Hi Guys,

I just purchased a 3.2Ghz Quad 2010 Mac Pro, I'm now looking for a memory upgrade and have spotted these modules on ebay. I'm planning on buying 3 of them, could anyone verify that these are compatible and are ideal for the machine.

Many thanks as always.

From Crucial's web site for your model:

Part #: CT1421776 • DDR3 PC3-8500 • CL=7 • Unbuffered • ECC • DDR3-1066 • 1.5V • 512Meg x 72

Comparison: Hynix Server DDR3 4GB PC3 8500R 8500 1066 ECC REG DRAM

Looks like it might work, but it's not identical. But, significantly cheaper...:D

This is 1066 MHz RAM. It should work, but the Mac Pro 2010 already takes 1333 MHz RAM. Also, it's REG (registered) RAM, so make sure you don't have unbuffered RAM (if you want to add these) because they don't mix (see http://www.querycat.com/question/5ae47129d8f3332b33aee707620283a1 )

Thanks, I went ahead with the order and will await 12GB's. Am I right in saying that a triple channel kit will be the best option? These are replacing the 3x1GB's that the Mac will come with.
