I am looking to upgrade an old Sony Mini-DV to something that does HD. I'd prefer something that records 1080 p or i but a 720 camera would work as well.
I record video mostly in off-road situations and the camera is hand held 95% of the time.
I'd like to spend 300-500.
I saw the new Sanyo waterproof cam which interested me since it would help keep the dust and sand out of the camera as well as it take 1080i video. However I feel the video would be jittery. Being dust proof is not a requirement but would be nice.
Any suggestions on which camera and where to buy either new or used?
