Wow, it shouldn't be too difficult to make a website cross-platform. My bank (http://www.westpac.co.nz/) manages :)

That's ridiculous! There is no need for the website to check your OS(Unless it uses activeX or something like it). This also effects people who use Linux. I've never seen or used that bank but I already hate it.

Any frustrated Irish Mac users should switch to the Allied Irish Banks' site, 24 Hour Online (http://www.24hour-online.ie); works fine for me in all the Mac browsers I've tried including Safari.
Some minor parts of it do require Windows, but I've never needed them.

Ironically, when i sent my iPod in for repairs the shipping was through Purolator in Canada. However, when i wanted to find the closest drop box i couldn't log in to their secure site to search for them unless i was using Windows and IE or Netscape 4. Why would Apple support a company that doesn't support them?

Considering that many technology decisions are made by executives ignorant about the technology they debate, it's no wonder that websites end up being anti-Mac without extra work.
It would be nice if they would check for compatibility when they buy a certain package since many are not up to date with current web standards and rely on technologies like ActiveX, which are security breaches.

It's certainly not just Irish banks restricting access to Windows customers. Most of the UK banks will allow Mac users to connect to their site, but personally I've found the speed and reliability quite poor. Firefox has made leaps and bounds in that most of the banking sites I use are better - however be ware as if you hit any problems (as I did with Barclaycard rejecting account actions a few months ago) you will hit a wall of silence when you contact support. Certainly with Barclays the message I got back was simply - "Macintosh customers are not supported".

Barclays online personal banking has worked just fine for me, using Safari, for well over a year.
