i'm all for innovative ways of proposing, but believe me, a picture of the ring probably won't get the reaction your hoping for --- even if it is delivered to her on, what i assume is GOING to be, her new iPod

It's certainly not any more "dorky" than skywriting your proposal, or putting it up on the Jumbotron at a football game. I would take revenuee's advice to heart, though: be sure to have the actual ring with you so that as soon as she understands what she's looking at on the iPod, you can hand her the real ring. ;)
