Hi

I have successfully installed OS X 10.5.6 via LeopardAssist.
I remember reading that 10.5.7 will not work well on machines > 800GHz.
Does anyone know if 10.5.8 is safe to install?

Thanks guys

jeez I dunno, at <1ghz I would stick with tiger personally. I'm tempted from time to time to go back to tiger on my 1.5 ghz pb...

it seems it would be rather slow on an 800mhz powerbook.

OS X 10.5.6 runs just fine.
- But did read somewhere installing 10.5.7 was buggy!
So Im just curious if anyone are running a G4 > 867GHz with OS X 10.5.8

I tried once running my Tibook on Leopard. It was slow as molasses and I'd never put it on anything slower than 1ghz.

But if you want to, 10.5.8 should run fine, just don't expect it to be awesome.

OK, did a backup and upgraded to 10.5.8, so fare so good!
- I did use leopardassist to overwrite firmware 800GHz --> 933GHz before update.

Enjoy your day guys!

I guess I'm about a week too late but I am also running 10.5.8 (server) on an 800mhz G4 powerbook.

I have this old powerbook lying around and couldn't figure out anything to do with it. Server, at least, runs terribly slow.
