Good Headphones for iPod Mini

My parents are giving me an iPod mini this Christmas (it's already under the tree!) and I need some guidance with headphones.

I have a problem with in-ear audio devices as they cause irritation on my ears (little bumps form on my ear after listening for an hour), so I need something besides what the iPod comes with.

I don't want anything too complicated; just good headphones.

I've been looking at these two headphones, but I'm still open to other items.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I plan to be rather active with my Pod, so something small and lightweight would be ideal.

Whoa. I should have put a price range with my first post!

Ideally, I don't want to spend over $40-50 dollars. I'm not really an audiophile, but at the same time, I know crappy sound when I hear it.

For that price range, it's best to stick with the white iPod headphones that come with the unit. For better audio, you're going to spend $80 or more. Tri-port is great if you want over the ear. Shure is a great manufacturer of in-ear phones.

I have the Sennheiser HD 202's and they are great. Took them to Vegas over the summer and I didn't get that much noise from the engines (I was sitting right by the wing). They are lightweight and a great investment.

I cant tell you how many umptie dump headphones ive been through either blown out, broken, uncomfortable etc

Koss Porta Pros.

I have had them for years...look a bit daggy (so being a mini user, this may matter to you) but they sound freakin great. They are not those horrible in ear buds....and the apple headphones blow.

Hi there, I frequently read in the forums at www.head-fi.org which is a site dedicated to headphones. I would say that for $40-50 the Sennheiser PX200's are your best bet. They sound incredible for the price and they are closed, which means the sound does not leak. Koss Porta-pro's are good as well, and so are Sennheiser HD497's. Also in that price range are Grado S60's. They are phenomenal, mainly for rock music. There are some more choices from someone who knows more about headphones than anything tech wise.

The sound in these are awsome, for such cheap headphones. Escpecially the bass is real good.

They aren't bad. A little larger than I expected, but once I started using them everyday, I didn't notice anymore.
